Adam-on-di-omen

On our way up to Nauvoo this summer we went to Adam-on-di-omen. I'm sure I'm spelling that wrong, but oh well. We had a great time there. The spirit is so strong and everything just looks so beautiful. Here are some pictures of us having some fun!

Our Gardening Experience

Ever since we moved in with my parents, I've been wanting to teach my kids how to garden. I finally made enough noise about it that my Mom came up with this great idea. she bought a box for each of my kids and they got to plant things in them and take care of them all summer. I think we fell a little short on the taking care of them part, fortunately my Mom helped out a lot with that. But they sure had a fun time getting their boxes in and planting their plants with their Daddy. Each of them got one food plant and the rest were flowers. All of their plants did really well! It has been fun showing them that we can plant our own food, and we have been enjoying finding new recepies to use up all of our zuchinni. Who knew one zuchinni plant would produce so many huge zuchinni's. My favorite part of this whole experience has been my "Diva." She would check on her pepper every single day to see how it was doing. When we finally told her that she could pick it, she carried it around with her for a couple of hours. She was very distressed when she found out I wanted to cook it in our chili but she finanlly decided it would be ok. This has been a very fun experience and I can't wait to do it next year, and be more of a part of the fun in the beginning when I didn't just have a baby. here are some pictures out of order.

Our New Baby

Most Recent Picture of our new Baby

It's been a while since I've blogged and lots of things have happened! I had our fourth baby at the end of May. She is very beautiful and we are so happy to have her in our family. I can't believe how fast she is growing. She is a very big momma's girl. It started almost immidiately. She went through about two months of not letting other people hold her, including her Daddy and her Grandma. Daddy and Grandma were not happy!!! She is very different from our other babies. I think the biggest difference is all of her hair!!! I never knew a baby could have as much hair as she has. Recently she has found her voice, and she LOVES to sing!

Valentine's Day

The girls and I had a ton of fun on Valentine's Day! We made lots of crafts.

Here's my favorite... It's called "Pocket full of Kisses." You can't see them very well but it's a jean pocket all decorated, and then we filled it with hershey's kisses.

They made these for their Great Grandma

This is a puzzle. I actually made it too hard. It was confusing to put together, but we had fun decorating it.

Here is Diva making her card for her grandma.

And "Smiley" or "Happy" whatever her name is.

So since Valentine's Day was on a monday, for family home evening we exchanged gifts and then we went around and asked everyone to name one thing they loved about each person in the family. Just before we started we couldn't get "Energizer" to put his legos away so they got taken away. So we started with family home evening and asked the older kids what they loved about each other. When we got to "Smiley" we asked why she loved "Energizer." She didn't really understand what we were asking her so we were prodding. We asked her if she loved that he shares his legos with her to which she replied. "No I like that take legos away... ha ha ha." Even "Energizer" laughed. So I know it's late, but Happy Valentine's Day!

Changing Names

I was realizing a while ago that I changed the name of one of my children on this blog, and my Aunt Pat realized it and even made a comment about about it, which was so subtle that I missed it for months! So "Smiley" or "Happy" maybe I should just start calling you by your real name so that I don't confuse myself anymore! I can't ever get your real name right in daily life, I don't know why I thought I could handle a nickname too! At least I kept it to the same general concept. Good times!

Diva's Birthday

Diva was sick for her birthday but she still managed to have a good time. She had a nice little birthday party. We invited some friends from the ward to come. They had a blast! I was afraid that they wouldn't be able to come because of how close it was to Christmas, but almost everyone Diva invited was there. They got to pin tiarras on the princess, make Christmas ornaments, and play in the "tastle tent." otherwise known as the castle tent.

Diva is growing up so fast! I feel as though I've missed some of her childhood because she just seems like she's just too big already. She LOVES learning and can't wait to go to school. In the meantime she tells everyone that she "goes to preschool" because I have done "preschool" with her twice this year. I am getting better organized so that we can do it more frequently so that I don't feel so guilty when she tells people about it.

Louisiana

Last week my husband and I travelled to Lousiana to attend the funeral of his wonderful step-grandfather "Pops." Pops was a wonderful man. He had many challanges and hardships in his life but he never let that bring him down. He was always concerned about everyone around him, and helped a lot of people get where they are today. He had a wonderful since of humor and he will be missed by many.

My husband had the priviledge of working with Pops in his comic book store when my husband was a teenager. I believe that is where he learned his good work ethic.

Our trip was good. We had memorable experiences and had the chance to celebrate a great man.
